Ah perfume… perfume can say so much, so to speak. Each perfume reacting differently from one person to another. I can actually remember the first perfume I bought myself, it was called Ciao! (Houbigant) which I bought as a very young teenager. Its fragrance notes were:

Just thinking back to these it is easy to see that some of these had similar notes in them, and those familiar scents can also come to the fore when you are nosing a whisky…which is a part of what I love about whisky, I absolutley love the scent of wood, vanilla, rich sherry notes. Popcorn, toffee, caramel, coffee and chocolate to name but a few. Again these can give you reminders of past times.. the same way as the scent a fresh morning can, laundry, what you’re eating…all scents and aromas have this ability.
So would Racy Perfume, Sweet Seduction which is from the Glen Moray distillery and was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society deliver all it promised?

This particular release was distilled on the 28th October 2008 in a first fill ex-bourbon barrel. This is 8 years old was was bottled at 59.4% abv.
On the nose there is butter and spice. It really was quite spicy upon first pouring this. There is a little caramel, it’s sweet but not overly sweet… yet. I was waiting to see what the palate delivered. There was a hint of some cooked pineapple in sugar. Woody notes coming to the fore. Then some brown sugar. I think the Honey Monster has been puffing past too…
The palate is showing it’s youthful side, well it is only 8 years old. It feels quite spirity with lots of woody spice and oak tannins. It’s quite fizzy in character, think about the middle of a Refresher sweetie. Some ginger heat packs a punch. There’s a little vanilla, just waiting to reveal itself… again the wood is playing on my tongue. Cooked oranges are mingling too…
I did actually add a little bit of water, just to see. A little more sweetness on the nose…maybe. The palate likewise. There was a slight waxiness on the palate. Plenty of spice and ginger heat though.
Was the seduction sweet? A lady never tells…
