Cameronbridge 39 Year Old – That Boutique-y Whisky Company

Cameronbridge 39 Year Old Batch 7, 44.6% – That Boutique-y Whisky Company

I love a good grain whisky, no really I do!! If anyone has seen the photos on my timelines, then you know what floats my boat… it’s right up my street!

The lovely chaps and chapettes at the Dram Good Whisky club have sent us a few more treats recently, and it’s high time I gave you my thoughts on them…

Cameronbridge 39 Year Old / Batch 7 / Boutique-y Whisky Co.

The label on this bottle depicts UK’s eight-time Tiddlywinks World Singles Champion Dr. Patrick Barrie.

Cameronbridge Distillery

The largest in Europe and the oldest too. Not long after 1929 Irish engineer Aeneas Coffey had improved a still design with this own patent still, and the Coffey design is still used at Cameronbridge… now, correct me if I am wrong, I am sure I have seen one on another Boutique-y label… mmmm!!

My Review

On the nose, gentle spices with a little ginger. Hints of coffee and warm worn leather… a few berries and the enticing scent of wood. I love that!

Caramel and cinnamon on the palate, this sits alongside cooked apple and some lovely woody notes. Did you know I love wood?!! I do.

The finish is warming and delicious with fruity flavours remaining on the palate.
